AGEING AND SEXUAL HEALTH
With the overall increase in life expectancy globally, a sizeable minority of individuals in their 8th and 9th decades are reporting continuing sexual activity. Healthcare professionals and service planners should develop care models to address their unmet needs, says Tahir Mahmood, Past President of EBCOG. We should break down barriers so that older people can access treatments and support for their sexual needs and problems from health care professionals without embarrassment or judgemental attitudes. A joint opinion paper by EBCOG and EMAS calls for action.
